Dr. Fred Sukdeo is an Economist and Business Management Professional. Born in, he is also a citizen of Canada. His employment history is extensive as he worked with numerous universities in varying capacities as follows: University Professor and international consultant, University of Alberta, Business in Employment Equity in the Province of Ontario, other North American universities, University of Suriname, along with the University of Guyana as Head of the Department of Economics, and Dean Faculty of Social Science. Dr. Sukdeo’s professional activities in Guyana includes being the negotiator for creating the state public sector with acquiring the major acquisition and productive sectors in Sugar and bauxite ownership; establishing the cooperative sector in finance, shipping, insurance ; Organizer of various Chambers of Commerce in many regions. He also represented Guyana at FAO conferences in Rome on Agrarian reform and rural development. Being the Technical advisor to the government of Guyana in the State planning Division in the Ministry of Finance Dr. Sukdeo provided consultancy services for major Guyanese private sector enterprises, was a Researcher and publisher on several topics. His Social Activities include being a Voluntary consultant on Social problems, Activist for Guyanese participation in the Diaspora for Guyana growth and development.
